Run WinDirStat as the SYSTEM user

Even when run as an administrator, WinDirStat can not see everything that is on the disk. File and directories owned by the SYSTEM user cannot be reported on.

To get around this you need to run WinDirStat as the SYSTEM user:

  1. Download psexec.exe from http://live.sysinternals.com
  2. Open an elevated command prompt
  3. Execute the following command psexec.exe -i -s "[path]\windirstat.exe"
